Dancin’ in September

Happy Friday TDD Dance Fam!
We are so excited to be working with your dancers and we appreciate your patience as we continue to make sure everyone is in the right class. Our goals are to always create a supportive, healthy, safe and confidence building environment.
CLASS ATTIRE
Let’s talk class attire!
Mostly importantly, it is for your dancer’s safety. If dancers’ hair is flying around, they have a greater chance of falling, or running into a classmate. We please ask that hair is pulled back.
Baggy pants are trending again and can be a fun stylistic option. We just ask that pants be the right length so tripping or slipping is avoided.
We have created a dress code so that we can best judge a dancer’s alignment. When you are not dancing in the proper alignment, you can create lasting muscle memory and patterns, that can lead to lifelong injuries or overuse.
We also highly recommend that dancers in hip hop classes wear hip hop sneakers. If you have questions about these, please ask! We have compiled a list of options and would be happy to discuss this futher. (Boys Hip Hop: Please see Miss Miranda for further details!)
We suggest this as shoes specifically designed for street dancing, these shoes typically offer a turning pad, and more support with a balanced traction, once again this a for safety reasons.
We have put together examples that you can purchase here. We are always happy to send over recommendations and such. As always, at TDD we understand that budgets are tight, and this is not always a feasible option for families. Please reach out as we will help in anyway we can.
